Austin, TX – channelAustin’s digital fusion fest – the celebration of its $1 million digital technology upgrade – will be a fun-filled afternoon for kids of all ages.

On Saturday, October 10, 2009, channelAustin will showcase its fully operational high definition digital media center to the Austin community, and kids and teens can join in the excitement.

Our iYouth Media department has prepared a special line up of activities for youngsters to use field cameras and the studios in a game-like environment.

Blue Screen Fantasy - 2:30 PM - 3:15 PM

Experience the magic of the blue screen to transport you anywhere!  See yourself in your favorite video games and movies. You get to do it all, in front of the camera and in the control room.

Scavenger Hunt - 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Come with us on a search for the true story of digital fusion fest. Your camera is your eye as you follow the clues that will lead you to the shots you need. In the end you’ll have filmed a short that highlights all the exciting activities and events happening that day.

Clay Motion - 4:45 PM - 5:30 PM

Create a world of your own where puddles of clay become the living and breathing stars of the screen. You'll learn the basics of modeling and animated movement and finish with an animated short.

Additional Kids Activities include a Moonbounce, Fire Truck Tours, Clowns and Balloon Animals.
